Fortunately this game is developed enough for such a simple premise. The problem with paying more for a shareware game online than you would a retail game at your local software store is that you can feel like you're not getting your money's worth. How about the timebombs from the Puzzle mode? Or colliding two hypercubes together?Īn online "hall of fame" with score submittal would be nice, but doesn't detract from the game itself. Maybe I haven't discovered them yet, but some more special gems, other than the 4x powergem and 5x hypercube, would be cool. The first Classic level is unique - you will not run out of moves (believe me, I've had plenty of opportunities :). The potential number of matches at the start of each level seems random. Also, I'm not sure the levels in Classic mode get progressively difficult. I'm often thinking "no no, don't tell me, I'll find it!". Hints should only be given if you ask for them. Even Freecell tells you when you only have one move left. I'm calmly moving around jewels, and without warning, I suddenly run out of moves and a deep, loud voice bellows "NO MORE MOVES", and the jewels shake and explode. But more variety and more upbeat parts wouldn't hurt. The quality is good and it sets a relaxing mood, and it's long enough to not get too tedious. If you get good enough in the Action mode, you'll unlock a bonus play mode - I won't spoil it for you. The puzzle mode is an interesting diversion, and you'll be surprised how tricky the simplest looking grids can be. There isn't even a manual! You'll get the hang of it after the first few tip screens, and after a while develop a bit of strategy. The sound effects work well, and have the range from quiet to loud that they need. :) The backgrounds are very attractive, and the colorful gems and menus build on that enjoyability. I wasn't planning on getting addicted to the game, and here I am, over 100,000 gem matches later. Anyways, have fun and I hope this review was helpful to you!īejeweled 2 makes for a nice relaxing diversion. It's great for that, and I have cleared over 120,000 gems and got a rank as a Supreme Bezelier. Overall it's a good game for families and friends who just want to spend time doing something fun while they're downloading music off the web. For the time downloading it and getting the serial number from the publishers. I know it's a mass marketing ploy to charge 20 bucks for it even though the game is worth at least 8 dollars. There's no online community and no other puzzles to download once you're done with the first 80 puzzles and the secret mode, no HighScore website to post at.Īnd the one thing I didn't like is the price of the game. The music could be varied, the space theme got boring real fast, but the good thing is, you can always fire up the Winamp player without having the game slowdown. It's only used I guess in dire situations like Action mode, but then it drains out the timer and your total score. I mean all you have to do is wait several seconds and the game will automatically hint to you the next piece available. The Hint button really isn't necessary except in the Puzzle mode. I thought some features could be omitted for a few of the gameplay modes. It's a relaxing game and more addicting than ever. Also keeps highscores and a record account of all users playing the game. The package also includes very nice scenery graphics and a space themed music to add. Connect 5 of the same and you get a Hypercube which allows you to clear one type of gem. The gameplay is simple and anyone can get started without any trouble at all, it's pretty straightforward, no learning curve, just connect 3 of the same gems to clear it, you can also build combo's of 4 of the same gems to get a Powercube which works as a stick of dynamite and clears out 3x3 square of gems. There is a secret mode once you complete all of the Puzzle challenges! And, lastly there is Endless Mode, where there is an unlimited amount of moves and time and lets you play at your own leisure pretty much. It's great for all you brain-addled gamers that need a good challenge. Next, is Puzzle mode, which allows you to clear gems in a puzzle-like fashion, whether moving one gem to clear out another. Action mode lets you play a timed game where you must clear as many levels and gems before the time runs out. There are now 4 new modes of play, from Classic which is the untimed version of play where you must clear as many gems as you can before you run out of moves. I have played Diamond Mine and I thought it was the best game in the world, but Bejeweled 2 Deluxe Edition, has more features than ever before. Now we're into the 21st century of video games and the technology has advanced farther with more diversion of gameplay available. You know when I first started out playing Tetris, it got boring and repetitive after awhile. This position is the usual, and the one I use for writing. It was hard to me to adapt to this position at the beginning, but it is too hard to press the pencil against the paper with it, so it is comfortable to make soft strokes. In this position, I rest the pencil over my middle finger, I grab it with my thumb and I give it direction with my index finger, the middle finger is farther from the pencil tip than the other two. Then with the 2B I can achieve darker tones, not by pressing more but passing the pencil one time and another to make it darker.įor the final line, or defined line, to be polish, and not hairy, the strokes must be the longer as possible, always in the same direction and not backwards, so if I have to go through several times for a stroke, I do it the first time, I raise up the pencil from the paper and place it at the beginning of the section and I go through it again.Īlso, there are two pencil position that can help to work better. The 4B is much darker than the 2B, and it trains my pulse (thing that has been hard to do) to not press too much and harm the stroke and the paper, but to draw the lighter possible. The sketch and the draft are made with a 4B pencil, as suggestion from my professor, and the final result with a 2B pencil. Something I’ve not mentioned before, that I would like to do now, is how I work with pencils.ĭepending on the complexity of the work, sometimes I can make 2 drafts, draft 1 and draft 2, before the final work. The guide is courtesy of Alesky Arte, and the reference deer is 4 cm (1.57 in) wide, my deer is 10 cm (3.94 in) wide. There you can compare the reference drawing with my final work, with the kneaded eraser (the little gray cube, that is a like clay that is use for cleaning the work, for the ones who don’t know) and my pencil. In the end, I use my kneaded eraser again to clear and erase the draft and draw over it the final work, with shadows, patterns and details, with a more solid and defined line. Then I used my kneaded eraser (or putty rubber) to clear and erase the previous lines so I can make soft lines that define better the shape, muscles and other aspects of the deer, even if the line was not too well defined. Here is my process:įirst, I start with the basic construction with geometrical figures, and I improvised a bit with the animal’s body, procuring that the stroke was soft even if it’s not well defined. It is the first animal (not human) I draw (besides of the Monokuma I did here, and at the beginning I was a bit worried and I didn’t know how to start, but I’m satisfied with the result. Yesterday I started some new guides about drawing animals in Alesky Arte, specifically deer. Remember: drawing takes time, so try to be a little patient with yourself! Hi everyone! This instructable's purpose is to make drawing hands less troublesome. |
